Donald Trump's Framework of Consequences and Incentives

Donald Trump's voracious appetite for revenge has quickly transformed into a structured framework. During the twelve months, the leader's anger and impulses have adopted the shape of government actions in ways reminiscent to past repressive systems. Government figures who resist his demands are promptly removed and succeeded by loyalists. Opposing figures who challenge him encounter indictment, trial and sanctions. Critics have been labeled under administration memoranda as “unpatriotic”, “against faith communities” and “against free markets”, and threatened with criminal charges as “extremists”.

Federal Agencies Restructured

Every situation involving prosecution of Trump's enemies and protection for supporters exhibits its own unique qualities. However, despite their specific form, they exemplify manifestations of what has developed as a calculated method. These events are not random. Trump's removal of federal prosecutors and FBI agents, accompanied by his installation of loyalists in senior positions, commenced quickly, quickly developed a pattern, and has now been molded into a system. The justice department and the law enforcement agency have been restructured into partisan organizations under Trump's direct direction to carry out his demands. Injustice has been turned into normal. It represents the apparatus of revenge.

Administration is preoccupied with penalizing the President's supposed adversaries than they are with safeguarding our national security.

Inside the Structure

The beginnings of this mechanism has been revealed in the legal complaint of multiple previous high-ranking FBI agents submitted in September in the federal court in DC against FBI director Kash Patel and attorney general another official for wrongful dismissal in “a campaign of payback against Plaintiffs for what administration figures judged to be a failure to demonstrate proper devotion”. The document states that a former acting director, the former temporary head, recounts a conversation in which Patel “openly admitted the unlawfulness of his behavior”.

Driscoll had tried to protect FBI agents from being fired, the filing states. The director informed him that “administration officials” – perceived by Driscoll to be the White House and federal prosecutors – had directed him to dismiss everyone who they determined as having participated in a criminal investigation against the president. The complaint adds: “The director clarified that he had to terminate the people his superiors told him to dismiss, because his capacity to hold his own role was contingent on the ouster of the personnel who handled matters involving the leader. The director noted that there was no option he or him could do to halt these or any other terminations, because ‘the bureau tried to put the chief in jail and he hasn't forgotten it.’” After he told the director he was breaking the FBI's own policies, the director allegedly said “he knew that and he knew the nature of the summary firings were almost certainly illegal”.

Broad Consequences

Following Patel's claimed confession to the official, the DoJ and the FBI have been dismantled and redirected for his system of punishment. Multiple of the agency's senior executives were dismissed or compelled to leave in the initial period of the administration. Roughly 4,500 legal professionals at the department have taken a “deferred resignation program”. A minimum of seven federal prosecutors, including those in the New York office, resigned in dissent over what they viewed as ideological pressure in withdrawing the legal action against the city leader, Eric Adams, in as a trade for his assistance with Trump's federal agency arrests of immigrants. The anti-corruption unit of DoJ, which manages misconduct investigations, has been reduced to two attorneys. The equality section has been decimated: 70% of its staff has departed. A third of senior leaders at DoJ have left. The unit enforcing conservation statutes has seen departures of 50% its management.

Favors and Punishments

In the legal matter, the acting US attorney for the federal division, the official, stepped down in objection against what she described as the “exchange”. The border official, his “border czar,” was present as the enforcer with Adams on Fox News to declare: “Unless he complies, I will return in New York City.”. Additionally, a former official, earlier the acting deputy attorney general and a past legal representative, who negotiated the agreement, was granted an judicial position, a potential stepping stone to the judicial branch.

His immunity for offenses committed while in power, awarded by the remarkable judgment of the GOP-led on the judicial body, thus thwarting his criminal case over the political violence and preserving his electoral prospects for the 2024 election, is the foundation stone on which he depends to protect his supporters. Under these circumstances, he has been freed to permit corruption. The effect of the supreme court decision saturates his administration and the GOP thoroughly. The legal case has escalated. Similar to a past leader's White House counsel he remarked about the Watergate
